That means the dress is 11 years older than Valentina! The rumor on the red carpet is that Salma and Valentina looked so great Chris De Burgh was going to re-record his classic song, but this time call it “Ladies in Red”.

Princess Caroline & Charlotte Casiraghi

Model, socialite, writer, journalist, film producer, equestrian, and member of the Monaco royal family, Charlotte Casiraghi is one of the trendiest royals in the world. However, it appears her mother, Princess Caroline of Monaco, beat her to it by decades.

(Left) Pinterest // @eumae | (Right) Pinterest // @voguemagazine

Princess Caroline first wore this gorgeous plunging black embroidered Chanel gown to the Monaco Dances Forum in Monaco in 2000. Then, almost two decades later, Charlotte wore the same frock to the 2017 Monaco Rose Ball, or in French, the Bal de Rose.

Heidi Klum & Leni Klum

German supermodel Heidi Klum wore a little black dress to a 1998 Comic Relief event. Six years later, she gave birth to Italian Formula One team manager Flavio Briatore’s daughter Leni. Then Heidi married English singer Seal and had two more kids with him.

Seal then adopted little Leni. Fast forward to 2022, and 18-year-old Leni is all grown up and fits into her mom’s clothes. So, she raided Heidi’s closet to wear the same silky dress to her prom in 2022. The color difference is due to camera flashes.

Diana Ross & Tracee Ellis Ross

At the 2017 American Music Awards, musical legend and queen diva Diana Ross was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Her daughter, Tracee Ellis Ross, hosted the ceremony and wore about a dozen fabulous outfits and looked every bit as supreme as her mom did when she was the lead singer of Motown’s The Supremes.

Zahara chose wisely, picking Angelina’s fabulous Elie Saab Couture, which the actress last wore to the 2014 Oscars ceremony. At the same red-carpet event, Shiloh also recycled a tan Gabriela Hearst dress that Mom wore earlier that summer.

Maria Shriver & Katherine Schwarzenegger

When Katherine Schwarzenegger married Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World star Chris Pratt, she wore a custom Armani Privé white crinoline lace bustier column gown with a full skirt that extended into a lace train.

Kate Middleton & Carole Middleton

Royal outfit swapping works both ways. In 2010, back before Prince William and Kate Middleton were even engaged, Kate’s mom Carole Middleton arrived on the final day of Royal Ascot wearing a cobalt-blue belted dress with black pumps.

Elaine Lively & Blake Lively

Blake Lively isn’t just Mrs. Ryan Reynolds — she’s a great actress too, as evidenced by her shark-fighting skills in The Shallows. Blake invited her mom to 2020’s New York Fashion Week. But Elaine didn’t have a stitch to wear, so her loving daughter lent her one of her best maternity looks from the previous fall collection.

Elaine strutted up to the Marchesa Fashion Show wearing her daughter’s amazing red-and-black, tribal-inspired Ralph Lauren cloak, skinnies, and boots.

David Beckham & Brooklyn Beckham

In January 2023, Brooklyn Beckham was spotted wearing his dad’s England soccer shirt in Los Angeles. That thing belongs in a sports museum! David and Brooklyn often have what the English call bants (banter) over their fashion choices.

(Left) Daily Mail // dailymail.co.uk | (Right) Twitter // @highsnobiety

A few years ago, when Brooklyn was 16, he posted a brooding selfie on Instagram, saying he was “rocking the old-school Ralph Lauren look.” However, his dad immediately called him out, replying, “That’s my jumper!”

The rapper originally wore the bright blue jacket to the 2008 American Music Awards with a sideways hat, gray suede shoes, and a tail!

Paris is known as the home of fashion, but no one was ready for nine-year-old fashionista North sporting her dad’s jacket with matching azure sunglasses, black pants, and chunky boots — but no tail.

Gwyneth Paltrow & Apple Martin

This entry comes straight from the horse’s mouth. One of Gwyneth Paltrow’s eight million Instagram followers asked her, “Does Apple ever wear any of your fashion archives?”

Facebook // ROYAL DRESS CODE

Delightful Victoria wore the same pink ruched bodice and flowing silver skirt dress. Of course, Victoria added her own flair with a different crown.

Queen Máxima & Princess Amalia of the Netherlands

It may not be a crown, but we’ve found the next best thing. This is the Mellerio Ruby Tiara, also known as Queen Emma’s Ruby Tiara, and it’s pretty special as it’s reserved for Dutch Queens only. On the left is Queen Máxima of the Netherlands wearing the tiara to Prince Carl Philip of Sweden and Sofia Hellqvist’s royal wedding in Sweden.

The red and black leather jacket Michael Jackson wore in his infamous 1983 Thriller video has gone down in music folklore. The coat usually lives in a museum where it belongs. But back in 2011, the King of Pop’s daughter, Paris, wore the iconic jacket as she took to the stage to honor her father’s memory at the Michael Forever concert in Cardiff, Wales.

Accompanying the photo, Vilailuck wrote, “So who wore better?” Chrissy responded, “Oh my god, you dork!” Nothing beats being trolled by your own mom!

The royals aren’t done with their clothes swapping yet! Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark, is famed for her fashion sense. However, she’s passed not only her style on to her daughter Princess Isabella but she’s also passed on her wardrobe. Crown Princess Mette-Marit & Princess Ingrid-Alexandra of Norway

Norway’s controversial Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore this black silk dress by Lanvin for the first time in 2004, attending an event in Oslo for the Nobel Prize. From the looks of things, she had to make a sharp exit via the car park.

Instagram // @eugeniagaravani

When her eldest daughter Princess Ingrid-Alexandra was photographed for an official portrait for her 18th birthday in January 2022, she borrowed her mom’s dress. Who do you think wore it better? We’re going out on a limb to say Princess Ingrid-Alexandra.

Cindy Crawford & Kaia Gerber

During the 1980s and 1990s, you weren’t a proper fashion magazine unless the presence of Cindy Crawford graced your cover. She was the most famous American supermodel and appeared everywhere. Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli made this printed dress, especially for Cindy.

(Left) People // Theo Wargo | (Right) Instagram // @kaiagerber

She first wore it to the 2003 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards in New York City and has worn it many times since. Fast forward 10 years, and Cindy’s then-13-year-old daughter, Kaia Gerber, wore the dress for a backyard photoshoot.

Instagram // @mrunalthakur

The beautiful Bollywood star wrote, “Isn’t this the best thing in the world to be able to wear your mom’s saree and jewelry? I’m in love with my mom’s wedding saree (Shalu). I think I may end up wearing the same for my wedding.”

They say fashions come back around, and in 1991, Ivana Trump wore a six-figure white and gold dress by iconic American fashion designer Bob Mackie. In 2014, her daughter, Ivanka, recycled the glittery frock to wear to fashion designer Joseph Altuzarra’s wedding.

Pinterest // @frcbymz

And in 2019, Ivanka borrowed the dress again for night two of designer Misha Nanoo and Mikey Hess’s wedding in Rome. To accompany a photo of her wearing her mom’s vintage outfit, Ivanka wrote, “A daughter’s never too old to clandestinely raid her mother’s closet! Shhh…!”

Sophie first wore the royal navy blue dress with white spots — which was designed by Tunisian couturier Alaïa — when she attended the Patron’s Lunch, a celebration connected with Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday in 2016.

Elizabeth Hurley & Damien Hurley

Back in 1994, Elizabeth Hurley literally made jaws drop. When she attended then-boyfriend Hugh Grant to London’s Four Weddings and Funeral premiere, the stunning English model and actress wore a plunging black Versace dress held together by several oversized gold safety pins.

(Left) IMDb // Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994) | (Right) Instagram // @damianhurley1

The then-shocking outfit became so famous it became known simply as “that dress.” When Liz’s grown-up son Damien attended a Pat McGrath event in 2019, he didn’t wear “that dress,” but he did borrow the safety pin idea for his Versace black suit.

Sarie Kessle & Margot Robbie

Sorry, guys — Margot Robbie is already spoken for… and not by Ken! When the Barbie actress married the world’s luckiest man, English film producer Tom Ackerly, she wore her mom, Sarie Kessle’s 30-year-old wedding dress. It’s a white off-the-shoulder lace gown, cinched at the waist by a ribbon.

(Left) Pinterest // @G*npIay | (Right) Pinterest // @newscomauhq

The secret wedding took place in 2016 in Byron’s Bay on Australia’s Gold Coast. Paparazzi had to zoom in from a mile away, and since there are no photos of her mom’s wedding either, here are two pictures of the amazing Margot Robbie in her mom’s dress.

The Kardashian-Jenner Sisters Steal Mom’s Wardrobe

For Kris Jenner’s 67th birthday in 2022, four of the Kardashian-Jenner clan borrowed their clothes to dress up like their mom! Kim wore a sparkling emerald green ensemble and bow tie.

Twitter // @kimkmissy

Khloé re-created Kris’ iconic 2017 blonde pixie pajama moment, while Kylie Jenner went all in wearing a sultry sequined black gown, statement choker, and bright red lipstick from her mom’s 1980s collection. Finally, Kourtney wore a pink tracksuit to pay homage to Kris’ “cool mom” cameo in Ariana Grande’s 2018 “Thank U, Next” music video.

Queen Elizabeth II & Princess Beatrice

Borrowing Angelina Jolie’s frock might be impressive, but how about borrowing a dress from the Queen of England? When Princess Beatrice married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2020, her grandmother, the late, great Queen Elizabeth II, lent her a drop-dead gorgeous white embellished Norman Hartnell gown she first wore in 1962.

Instagram // @theroyalfamily

Blushing Beatrice also borrowed the Queen Mary Diamond Fringe tiara from Queen Elizabeth, who wore it on her own wedding day to Prince Philip in 1947. And since no one’s gonna beat wearing the Queen of England’s dress and wedding tiara, we’ll leave it there.
