It was said that Klay Thompson played his last match with the Golden State Warriors when they lost in the Western Conference semi-final match. The trio was severed when Thompson agreed to join the Dallas Mavericks.

The Dallas Mavericks put their feelers out to Thompson after they lost to the Boston Celtics by 4-1 in the NBA finals. Thompson agreed to a meeting to talk about moving to them, as the Warriors started their losing streak, making Thompson re-think his position with them.
