Materials

You don’t need a lot of materials to make a wreath, but you’ll still have to go shopping. The good news is that you can find everything you need at the dollar store. Here’s what you’ll need.

You need a dried material like pampas grass, bunny tail, or dried ferns, a metal wreath frame, floral wire or floral tape, fabric or wooden craft flowers, ribbon, and hairspray. If you can’t find a floral wire or tape, you can use zip ties, as they are sturdy and easy to attach. Simply follow the instructions and tie them to the frame. Squeeze tight and cut off the excess tails.

How to Make a Fall Wreath

Wreaths are easy to make as you simply need to form small palm-size bouquets. Start by creating a small set of dried material. Make sure the stem’s diameter matches the width of the metal frame. Take your floral tape or wire, and use it to secure the first bundle to the frame. If the frame is curved, the bundle will sit inside like a cup.

Repeat these two steps until you cover the whole frame. Make sure that the fluffy side of each bundle covers the attached stems of the one before it. You want the bundles to sit as close as possible so your wreath can look fuller. When attaching the last bundle, lift the head of the first one and secure the final bundle underneath. This will ensure that all the stems are covered.

The Final Touches

Now it’s time for some final touches! You can make the wreath look even better by weaving in fabric or wooden craft flowers. You can attach them with tape, wire, or zip ties. Make sure that the dried grasses hide the connection points. Tie it with a beautiful ribbon bow of your choice if you want to.

Dried grasses normally tend to shed quite a lot. To keep your wreath in perfect condition, spray a generous amount of hairspray. The last step is to hang it on your door or window and you’re done! Your beautiful fall decor looks festive and you didn’t have to spend a lot on it.
