Follow This Recipe for Delicious Dill Pickle Chip Chicken Wings

Many people love to eat crispy chicken wings. This recipe provides that desired crunch and combines it with the iconic flavor of pickles. The secret is in the brine and mixing up your cornmeal with crushed dill pickle chips! It sounds simple and it is - simply delicious! If you’re ready to put a fun twist to your chicken wings, just follow along with this easy recipe!

The Necessary Ingredients

To make three to four servings of these scrumptious wings, you will need:

Two pounds of cut chicken wings
A tablespoon of red pepper flakes
Two cups of pickle juice
A cup of finely crushed dill pickle potato chips
A third of a cup of cornmeal
A tablespoon of garlic salt
A teaspoon of ground cayenne
Two tablespoons of vegetable or canola oil
A teaspoon of ground black pepper

Prepare the Breading

Start by soaking the chicken wings in a brine of pickle juice combined with the red pepper flakes. When the chicken wings are submerged, cover the dish with saran wrap and refrigerate for at least four hours. Around the time when the chicken is properly marinated, start preparing the breading.

Crush the dill pickle potato chips into a fine consistency resembling cornmeal. Combine the chips with the cornmeal, garlic salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and mix it well. At this point, you can remove the wings from the brine and pat them dry using kitchen paper towels.

Toss the chicken wings in the oil and move them into the breading mixture. Toss well until the wings are fully covered. Cook the wings in an air fryer for around twenty-five minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Shake them around a bit when they’re twelve minutes in. If you don’t have an air fryer, bake the wings in the oven for thirty-five minutes at 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
