The birthday festivities of Bobi, the beloved dog, took place in the charming village of Conqueiros, Portugal, on a delightful Saturday, specifically on May 13th. This extraordinary and momentous occasion was a celebration of Bobi’s unparalleled status as the ultimate birthday boy. Surrounded by his adoring family, friends, locals, and cherished companions, Bobi had the pleasure of basking in the company of approximately 100 attendees hailing from various corners of the globe.

There was cake, a dance troupe, and lots of laughter as Bobi’s humans, the Costa family, threw him the ultimate party. According to the 38-year-old Leonel Costa, who is Bobi’s owner, the day was a very traditional Portuguese party. Of course, that was not at all surprising because Bobi is known to be a cool, calm, and collected canine.

Guests dined on exquisite local meat and fresh fish while the birthday dog got his own serving. Bobi eats human-grade food only, and this is probably his secret to his impressive age and good looks. Since February, Bobi has become quite a celebrity because the Guinness World Records announced him to be the world’s oldest dog and also the oldest dog in history. According to Costa, visitors have come from all over Europe, the USA, and even Japan, just to see and greet Bobi.

Bobi is a purebred Portuguese farm dog known as Rafeiro do Alentejo, with an average life expectancy of 12 to 14 years. Yet, he has gone well past all expectations and is now holding the record that was previously held by the Aussie Cattle Dog named Bluey, who lived to the age of 29.
